It all began with our first ferret Baco. We were completely unexperianced. Even though we found a lot of information on the internet, try to put this into practice! Kevin, however, was so consequent in his upbringing, that we've got a ferret that is houseclean, responses to his name or a whistle, doesn't bite, regulary sleeps in Kevin's bed and takes a shower with him.

Because Baco was such a sweet little guy and he has infected us with the "ferretvirus" we wanted another ferret. Kevins preference was a black self hob. So we ended up at Chantal in Leusden. Here Kevin made a reservation for his little hob. When the first pictures came one Chantals website, it also started to tickle Marga and she wanted a jill. So a call to Chantal! At the first visit it accured that there was a jill available in the same litter and this also was reserved. So that were 2 new ferrets, Duvel, the black self hob and Bailey, the champagne self jill.

This was enough to begin with. But never say never! In Chantals last litter was an albino hob, Lemon. We were immediately in love. So this was also reserved. In the mean time, through an acquaintance in Apeldoorn, we've got 2 jills, Breezer, a blaze mitt and Shandy, a sandy mitt. He couldn't hold them anymore because they bit. And then there were 6! The biting was over within 2 weeks.

Now we have a very nice group that fits very good: sleeping, playing and eating together. We've always stayed in contact with Chantal. She gave (and still gives) us a lot of information about breeding, taking care of and common knowledge of ferrets.

We started as breeders while we thaught it was a nice hobby. Meanwhile we found out, that breeding means more than just putting a hob and a jill together and the rest would come by it self.

Because we want to breed well-considered, we made some directions we want to follow. We not only study very carefully the pedigree of the parents but we also look at the future lines. We want, whatever it takes, to prevent inbreeding. Also character and health are studied; we want to breed lovely and healthy ferrets who bring much joy to their new owners and don't end in rescueshelters after one year.

Because our ideas coorespond with the guidelines of
Frettenfokkers Nederland, we joint them.
